Join us on Tuesday 9 July at Sky HUB, Victoria for the launch of London Property Alliance’s latest research report – Good Growth in Central London.
Produced in collaboration with Arup, this major piece of research is aimed at helping a newly elected government grow the economy by exploring potential growth scenarios for the capital's Central Activities Zone (CAZ), a critical engine of the country’s economy that generates over 10% of the UK’s economic output.
This breakfast seminar will explore the key themes of the report, including what good and balanced growth looks like across the CAZ, the key trends and policies shaping central London’s economic growth and how to balance sustainability and net zero ambitions with the principles of good growth.
Following a keynote speech from Howard Dawber (Deputy Mayor for Business & Growth, Greater London Authority) and a short presentation from report author Matthew Dillon (Global Economics Skills Leader, Arup), our expert speakers will be discussing the report’s key themes and findings.
On behalf of WPA and CPA members, we have launched a Manifesto for Growth, calling on the next government to unlock economic growth and reset the relationship between central and London governments.
Ahead of the General Election on Thursday 4 July, London Property Alliance has set out four key asks through which the newly elected government can grow the economic and social prosperity of London’s CAZ.
The Alliance is calling on the next Government to implement policies for a more ambitious settlement to return powers to London government, in addition to reforming the planning system to create certainty for developers and local authorities in order to ensure a return to sustainable major project investment in all parts of the CAZ.
This upcoming breakfast seminar will explore the key drivers behind the rapid rise in development and investment that has cemented Southwark’s position as a vital part of London’s Central Activities Zone.
The event will feature an expert presentation and panel discussion covering the key developments being brought forward across the borough, the objectives of the Southwark Plan 2022 and how the vibrancy of the area is shaping the kind of occupiers who are moving there.

The findings for the report came from an industry survey completed by 300 LPA members, along with exclusive insights from interviews with leading policy makers and those that are pioneering the use of AI in the sector. Read more on the report in EG(£) here.
