Our submission to the Spring Budget
On behalf of WPA and CPA members, the Alliance submitted representations to the Chancellor ahead of the Spring Budget. We have called for the ring-fencing of income for planning departments, the extension of Business Rates relief and further fiscal devolution for London to help improve the capital’s economic, social and environmental outlook. Read our full submission here.

Last Chance - Retrofit and Redevelopment Survey
Have your say on how the planning system is equipped to assess proposed retrofit and redevelopment projects in a net zero context, to help inform our upcoming paper. The research follows our ‘Retrofit First, Not Retrofit Only’ report last year and aims to explore challenges in the planning system in more depth. Fill out the survey here.
Diversifying Real Estate: Faith & Religion
Last week we launched our sixth and final publication in the Diversifying Real Estate guidebook series. Focusing on Faith and Religion, it was published in partnership with BAME in Property and features a foreword by its Founder and Director, Priya Aggarwal-Shah.

Other news and updates
Homelessness appeal
London Property Alliance is asking London’s property industry to help find temporary accommodation space for homeless people during periods of cold weather in January and February.
This is in line with the Mayor of London’s Severe Weather Emergency Protocol, which works with homelessness charities and the London boroughs to find safe spaces in central London and get rough sleepers off the streets during the dangerously cold winter weather.
If you have any empty leisure or retail unit, hotel or office floor which is weatherproof, heated and lit, with running water, please get in touch with Rosie Day at rosie.day@cwpa.org.uk
Transport for London to trial 'off-peak' Fridays
The Mayor of London has asked TfL to implement a three-month trial, which will offer off-peak Tube and rail fares on Fridays. The trial, which begins in March, aims to understand if offering tickets at a reduced price towards the end of the week could improve ridership figures and boost London's economic recovery. Deadline Extended – AI and the Built Environment Survey
This is the very last chance to get involved with London Property Alliance's AI and the Built Environment research, which has been commissioned by the WPA and CPA NextGen committees.
We would love to hear our members' views - from a range of sectors and career stages (you don't have to be NextGen!) - about how Artificial Intelligence is impacting jobs and skills within your business, and what you see as its key opportunities and challenges for the property sector. The survey takes just two minutes, so please have your say here.
NextGen Winter Reception
Last week we welcomed 100 NextGen members (those with less than 10 years industry experience) to an evening reception at Sheppard Robson's Camden Town Headquarters. Our network of young property professionals heard from the keynote speaker, Antonia Jennings (Chief Executive, Centre for London), as well as CPA and WPA NextGen Chairs Leila Gray (Sheppard Robson) and Emma Lally (Momentum Transport Consultancy). Thank you to our NextGen champion Gardiner & Theobald for supporting the reception.
