Westminster City Council launches Climate Fund to help cut emissions

This grant scheme will help local businesses, cultural institutions and community organisations reduce their carbon emissions and generate clean energy. Grants will focus on key areas including city-wide decarbonisation, community-led energy projects and behavioural change programmes promoting greener living. The fund has been generated by the City Council’s Carbon Offsetting policy on new developments. Applications will close on Friday 18 July, read more here.

City Council's new initiative will seek to tackle harmful cooking emissions

Commercial cooking produces 60% of particulate matter (PM) 2.5 in Westminster and these pollutants can lead to serious health conditions. As part of a new scheme held in partnership with London Clean Air and UCL, master's students from the university will be visiting hospitality businesses in Westminster to take air quality readings and carry out short anonymous questionnaires. If you would like to take part and be at the forefront of sustainable business practice in Westminster, get in touch here.
